PBS is also implemented in Canada, Norway, Iceland, Holland, Denmark and Chile (probably more as well!). I am also a fan of Barbara Fredrickson's work which suggests the link between positivity and psychological flexibility!

Let me practice what you have preached and say what a delightful, encouraging, science-based, warm and fuzzy, life promoting article you have written, Dr. Biglan. It opens up doorways in the mind. I can see children all over the world involving themselves in the hard task of learning to do arithmetic while being praised and supported. I'd guess that very few of them would cringe and cry when they have to balance their checkbooks (as I did for many, many years.) And I'd bet that even the artistic types (like me) who don't believe they are very mathmaticable would become quite able and proficient. And, yes, gleefully discover the uses of math in art. Hekate
